DAY 14/15 – Traveling to Nairobi/Kenya

December 13th/14th, 2017

By now we are two weeks on this African continent and God’s grace has kept all of us in good spirits and excellent health, and we certainly don’t take these things for granted. All along our journey, everybody treated us as royalty and I believe, it is because of the tremendous Word that God’s servant Brother Vin is sharing all around the world. It’s a privilege for each and every one of us, to be part of the supporting team.

Our time in Kigali is coming to an end today, and after a wonderful breakfast and lunch we have to leave.

These lovely sisters were the cooks, cleaners, washers and ironing stuff in the Guest House and they did everything they could to accommodate us.

Chef Didier and Emmanuel, faithful servants

While we are all waiting for the transport to the airport, Brother Vin is speaking to some the young men from the local church about mighty Gentile warriors. They came this morning to help us with the luggage and to have some fellowship, and they listen attentively to things, they never have heard before. For sure they would appreciate to hear more, but our time here is running out, and they will follow for more on the internet. The bus arrives and all the luggage has to be loaded, and we are on our way to the airport.

By the time we reach the gate at the airport we have passed 6 vain checkpoints; it’s frustrating.

So much trouble for just a 1.5 hour flight. The name of the plane from Kenya Airlines is Pride of Africa; they serve us a light meal, and before we know it, we have already arrived.

Although its already late at night, the saints from Pastor Wycliff’s church here are giving us such a warm welcome and after loading all the luggage into their cars, we are on our way to the Waribi Paradise Hotel, a little jewel in the midst of Nairobi, with clean and spacious rooms.

First thing we all gather in the conference room of the hotel, and the brothers and sisters, who picked us up, introduced themselves and we learn, that Brother Solomon is the chairman of this convention.

We are here to serve one another and we know to accommodate all of us in such a nice place is a great sacrifice for the believers here. They have some snacks for us, and we are finally shutting off the light at 4.25 a.m.

A drilling noise is waking us up at 8 a.m. and we realize it comes from a construction site right across the street. So we decide to go for breakfast, where we meet others , who had the same wake-up call. Later in the afternoon, the singers from the local church are here for practicing together with our singers and some of the brothers leave to set up the sound system in the hall, which Pastor Wycliff rents from the University of Nairobi.

Later on there is lunch provided for all of us at Brother Masinde’s Restaurant,  where we get refreshed and to our surprise  some brothers from Zimbabwe joining us. Everybody is in great expectation for the services and we are glad to be here.
